1671 | Stella Artois | Belgium | Lager | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Brewed under license in Canada by Labatt Brewing Company
October 1, 1998
Casey’s Restaurant (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Front Street West)>br> 330ml bottle
5.20% ABV
$4.00
This is a pleasant beer to drink after work when visiting the pub with friends. The aroma is mild and malty, and not too strong. It pours a nice golden colour with a fair sized white head and looks like a beer should. It is very smooth to the tongue and goes down nicely. It has a mild taste that makes this a very easy beer to drink. |

1672 | Carlsberg Light (Canada) | Canada | Light / Lite Lager | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 September 17, 1987
Gift
355ml bottle
4.0% ABV
$0.00
Brewed in Canada by the Labatt Brewing Company Limited
For a light beer, this my preference so far. Much better than any other Light beer I've tried. The aroma here is similar to the main brand, so much so that I am unable to tell the difference. Again, like the main brand, it is golden in colour with a mouthfeel that is not offensive to the tongue. However, the flavour has slightly less bite than the parent brew. |

1675 | Thomas Hardys Ale (Vintage 2003 and later) | United Kingdom | English Barleywine | 3.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 2006 Vintage
250ml
13.3%
I tried this beer on January 31, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto. The bottle was a 2006 vintage, and 13.3% ABV. The beer poured a dark reddish brown with am offwhite bubble head. The aroma was very yeasty, with some malt and candy tones. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, creamy with mild carbonation. The flavour was overpowering from an alcohol perspective with some detectable dark fruity tones and a stomach warming presence. Like the Samichlaus, not a beer I'd try again! |
