The aroma was smoked wood, dark fruits, caramel and some floral hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, slightly creamy, and medium carbonation. The flavour was smoked wood, weak malty tones, light fruit notes, and a tart finish. Not a lot of bitterness.

341ml bottle <br> 5.3% ABV <br> I tried this beer on May 18, 2012 at "C'est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark brown into the tulip glass with very little head. The aroma was sweet malt, grains, and molasses, with some floral hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. the flavour was grains, pepper, molasses, and some berryish notes, followed by a bitter finish. the pepper notes, while non-existent in the aroma were very pronounced in the flavour.

The beer poured a translucent dark brown colour with a thin white head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark fruits, bread and yeast. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with mild carbonation, and a dryness feeling. Flavour is sweet malt, some caramel and grainy notes. Not much in the way of bitterness until the very end.

A very enjoyable beer.

Aroma is very stout like with plenty of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is roasted malt, somewhat mild coffee notes, and some yeastiness. A slight metallic aftertaste, but overall, quite enjoyable.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is sweet malt, some roast, smoke, and a hint of molasses. Easy drinking and not too sweet.

Very well balanced.

Flavour is smoke and sweet malt up front with quite a bit peatiness in the finish. Not as sweet as other Scotch Ales.

The flavour was roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Quite good, but not great. The barrels lended very little to the flavour.

The aroma was vanilla, coffee, chocolate, and dark fruit. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour was on the sweet for a Russisan Imperial Stout. Vanilla and chocolate dominate the flavour with latent coffee hints.

The beer pours a solid dark brown with a creamy brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, nuts, and coffee. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is a mixture of coffee and hot pepper. While the pepper is not noticeable in the aroma, you can certainly taste it.

Flavour is well balanced with the malty backbone balanced balanced by the bitter citrus flavours of the hops. A very good beer, very unlager-like though.

The aroma is pine, citrus and hints of caramel. Mouthfeel is full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is slightly sweet, not a lot of citrusy hop bite, alcohol is well hidden. I was expecting more, but then I was disappointed by RTed Racer as well.

Alcohol is the firest thing I taste followed by some sweet fruit notes, yeast, and spices. Over the course of the hour, the alcohol does become less noticeable.

The aroma is tropical fruit, light grains, pine resin, citrus, yeast, and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is pine heavy with notes of tropical fruits, grains, yeast, and light bitter hops. There is no sign of the high alcohol content in the aroma or flavour, but the brain detects it shortly after finishing&#33;

The beer pours a mahogany colour with a thick tan coloured head. Lots of lacing. The aroma is grains, candy sugar, honey, dark fruits, and caramel. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, and well carbonated. The flavour is burnt sugar, grains, light anise notes, and dark fruit. This Trappist ale needs a bit of work!

The aroma is grassy malts, pine, grapefruity hops, light yeast, and caramel. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The grapefruit, pine, and caramel notes dominate the flavour and the finish is quite bitter. This is my kind of IPA.
