2051 | Wychwood Ginger Beard | United Kingdom | Spiced Beer | 2.5
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 March 22, 2013
LCBO Outlet #511 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – King / Spadina)
500ml bottle
4.2% ABV
$3.50
The beer pours a translucent reddish-gold with a thin tan ring for a head. Aroma is grainy malt, ginger, and light hops. Mouthfeel is light bodied, with high carbonation. Flavour is a British bitter crossed with Ginger Ale but got more beery as it warmed up. Heavy on the ginger and the spice. Not something I would try again. |

2052 | St. Peter's G-Free | United Kingdom | Blonde Ale | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500ml bottle
4.2% ABV
King/Spadina LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 2, 2013
The beer pours a very translucent reddish gold with absolutely no head. The aroma is citrus, hops, grains, and spices. The mouthfeel is weak bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is spicy, almost gingery, with some hops and earthiness. Aside from the lack of head and weak body, it was an easy drinking beer. I wouldn't want more than a couple at a sitting hour as the gingeriness would get to me. I have to agree with slowrunner77 however as I can get Chimay Blue for less money (and it tastes a LOT better). |

As the pour is happening, the aroma of sweet berries fills the air, followed by some grainy notes. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with ample carbonation. The flavour is sweet berries, grainy malt, and a rubber-like aftertaste that lingers. Smells better than it tastes. |

2059 | Morland Old Crafty Hen | United Kingdom | English Strong Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 500ml bottle
6.5% ABV
Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
December 10, 2013
Part of a Morland Christmas 4-pack at the LCBO. Everything about this beer is similar to the Hen's tooth I had for lunch with the flavouring except the alcohol is more noticeable in the flavour of this one, and the colour is more red. Still quite good, but not as good as a Hen's Tooth. |
