2001 | Florisgaarden den Ninkeberry | Belgium | Fruit Lambic | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 6 330ml bottle
3.5% ABV
I tried this beer on September 2, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The bottle looked and felt more like a 250ml bottle than a 330ml bottle. The beer poured a hazy golden pink colour with a fizzy short-lived head. The aroma was very fruity with mango very apparent. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, with medium-high carbonation. The flavour was sweet in a fruity sense (as opposed to the artificial sweetness in a Wittekerke Rose) with a little malt in the taste.

After reading the plethora of reviews from Canadian based beerpals, one has to wonder if it's available stateside (not that they're missing anything). |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 August 18, 2009
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
500ml bottle
4.5% ABV
$2.85
The beer poured a translucent golden red with a thin tan coloured head. The aroma was sweet malt and light fruits, although it was more apricot like than pomegranate. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium-high carbonation. The flavour was sweet malt with a tang. A bit over the top flavour wise as it was more of a zing than anything. |

2009 | Innis & Gunn Limited Edition Canadian Cask | United Kingdom | English Strong Ale | 3.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330ml
7.1% ABV
Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
July 17, 2009
The beer poured a translucent golden brown with red highlights, and a 1" thick foamy white head. Effervescence is apparent. The aroma is slightly sweet, there is a hint of oak, nutty malt, but no signs of whiskey. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour unfortunately has a sour finish to it and has a hint of whiskey. The malt and oak are definitely evident as well. The beer looks great, but the taste doesn't match up in my opinion. |

2019 | Westvleteren Abt 12 | Belgium | Abbey Quadrupel | 4.8
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 June 25, 2009
Bar Volo (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – 587 Yonge Street)
330ml bottle
10.2% ABV
$41.04
Several Toronto beer bars have banded together to get several cases and sell it - and I grabbed the chance. The beer poured an opaque dark brown with an off white head...not near as dark as the St. Bernardus or Rochefort quads. The aroma knocked my socks off....fresh figs and plums, with warm yeast and sweet malt. More than satisfying. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, with mild carbonation - yet a bit thinner than other quads. The flavour again was quite complex and full of flavours when compared to St. Bernardus, and didn't have the alcohol taste and feel I get with the Rochefort. The bitter aftertaste was even pleasant after the sweet malt and fruit tones. On aroma and taste alone, this is the best beer I have ever had. I'm knocking off points for appearance and mouthfeel as the beer was 'lighter' than I was expecting. |

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 355ml bottle
4.5% ABV
I tried this beer on June 4, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a transparent gold colour with a thin white head that disappeared fast. The aroma was grainy malt, some hops, and a hint of dishwashing detergent. The mouthfeel was weak bodied, quite watery, and well carbonated. The taste was an ill conceived concoction of grainy malt, grass, and acid. |
