1427 | Molson Canadian Wheat Lager | Canada | Pale Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 473ml can
4.5% ABV
King/Spadina LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 5, 2013
Beer pours a hazed pale gold with a frothy white cap that didn't last long. The aroma was very similar to a regular Molson Canadian, not much to give any impression that this is a wheat beer. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with mild carbonation...certainly not as thin as a Molson Canadian. The flavour is a little more robust than Canadian with less phenolic notes and a hint of wheat. Still rather metallic and tart however. |

The aroma is pine, citrus, and cardboard. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is grains, grapefruit, and pine. Bottled April 15, 2013 so quite fresh, but just doesn't thrill me. |

1429 | St. Peter's G-Free | United Kingdom | Blonde Ale | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500ml bottle
4.2% ABV
King/Spadina LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 2, 2013
The beer pours a very translucent reddish gold with absolutely no head. The aroma is citrus, hops, grains, and spices. The mouthfeel is weak bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is spicy, almost gingery, with some hops and earthiness. Aside from the lack of head and weak body, it was an easy drinking beer. I wouldn't want more than a couple at a sitting hour as the gingeriness would get to me. I have to agree with slowrunner77 however as I can get Chimay Blue for less money (and it tastes a LOT better). |

1430 | Great Lakes Brewery Tank Ten Series: My Bitter Wife IPA | Canada | IPA | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 650ml bottle
7.0% ABV
RBC Plaza LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Ontario)
May 3, 2013
The beer pours a very hazy golden-orange colour with a long lasting white head. The aroma is citrusy hops, some tropical fruit, and caramel and grains. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is a mix of tropical fruit and citrus with some sweet malt as well. Easy to see why this has been a favourite of the Toronto beer crowd for the last 3-4 years. |

1431 | Dupont Monks Stout | Belgium | Stout | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330ml bottle
5.2% ABV
King/Spadina LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 1, 2013
Part of the Spring 2013 LCBO Dupont feature. The beer pours a translucent reddish-brown (when held to light) and a creamy brown head that quickly dissipated into a ring. Aroma is roasted malt, yeast, and burnt wood. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, but thin for a stout and carbonation is average. Flavour is tart and funky with some roasted malty notes, yeast, and maybe watered down coffee. A stout in name only. In the overall pantheon of beers, this is above average. In the overall pantheon of stouts, this is below average. |

1433 | Beer Academy Belgian Maple | Canada | Belgian Strong Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 625ml bottle
9.0% ABV
Six Pints Brewing/Beer Academy (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
Bottled on April 15, 2013
April 26, 2013
$6.06
13 days from bottling so it should be fresh. It pours a hazed golden-brown colour with very little head, yet a white ring forms against the edge of the chalice. The aroma is faint maple, yeast, caramel, and some nutty character. The flavour is slightly sour malt, yeasty, and a maple sugar burnt note in the finish. One of their worst efforts to date. |

Aroma alcohol, raisins, caramel, and molasses. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with ample carbonation. Flavour is sweet with the alcohol leaving a trail down to the stomach. Caramel, raisins, and molasses dominated the flavour but I felt I could detect some candy sugar in the mix. A very good beer, and definitely a sipper!

This was part of the 2013 LCBO Spring release, but this would have been great as a winter warmer. |

There is definitely the citrusy notes of the cascade hops, as well as some weak caramel notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour doesn’t live up to the aroma. Some weak hoppy grapefruit notes mixed in with the infamous dishsoap notes. Better than their flagship IPA, but still ’crafty’ as opposed to ’craft’ |
