626 | Mill Street Kombucha Radler | Canada | Fruit Beer | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 473ml can
3.0% ABV
Canned On: June 24, 2019
LCBO Outlet #649 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Louis Saint Laurent / Bronte)
July 27, 2019
$3.60
The beer pours a murky medium gold with a generous fluffy white head that lasts a while, but doesn’t provide a lot of lacing. The aroma was grainy malt, weak earthy hops, hibiscus, and light citrus notes. The mouthfeel was weak to medium bodied with below average carbonation. The flavour was quite fruit forward, with the grainy malt in the background. There was very little bitterness in the finish. An interesting beverage. |

627 | Henderson Brewing / Society of Lady Beer Drinkers Blood Orange Saison | Canada | Saison | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 473ml can
5.5% ABV
Canned On: July 12, 2019
LCBO Outlet #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
July 26, 2019
$3.85
The beer pours an orange juice colour with a thin white film for a head. The aroma is funky yeast, light orange, cereal grains, and light spicy hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is weak orange, yeast, sour grains, and a hint of spice. Unlike any saison, or for that matter, any beer I’ve had before. Very unique. |

628 | Black Bellows Himalaya White IPA | Canada | Witbier | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 473ml can
6.5% ABV
Canned On: July 3, 2019
LCBO Outlet #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
July 26, 2019
$3.75
The beer pours a hazed golden yellow with a frothy white cap and an abundance of floaties. The frothy white cap lasts a while and laces beautifully. Aroma is wheat, citrus, light spices, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is bitter citrus peel, some fruit notes, yeast, and weak spices. One gets the “IPA” more than the “White” in this one. |

629 | Sawdust City Skinny Dippin' Stout | Canada | Oatmeal Stout | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 473ml can
5.5% ABV
Canned On: June 5, 2019
LCBO Outlet #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
July 20, 2019
$3.35
The beer pours a solid black colour with absolutely no head - none. Quite disappointing for a Sawdust City beer. The aroma is light coffee notes, roasted malt, and weak herbal hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is similar to the aroma with notes or roasted malt, coffee, and weak hops. For a beer that is only 6 weeks old, from a brewer I enjoy, this beer is a huge disappointment! |

The aroma is wheat, smoked wood, herbs, and yeast. Interesting combination. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, with average carbonation. The flavour is sweet wheat and bubble gum to start, giving way to charred wood, and spices in the finish. Again, a very interesting beer. |

631 | Beau's All Natural Good Time Session I.P.A. | Canada | IPA | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 473ml can
4.0% ABV
Canned On: June 12, 2019
LCBO Outlet #255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
July 20, 2019
$3.35
The beer pours a highly carbonated straw yellow colour, slightly cloudy, with a huge white head that quickly recedes to a bubbly film on top. At the end of the pour, it was like a yeast cake entered the glass. Aromas of grass, tropical fruit, and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Clearly the effervescence in the pour is just for show. The flavour is pine and citrus, leading to a very bitter hoppy finish. |

The aroma is tart fruit, vinegar, burnt wood, and yeast. There is an almost tripel-like feel to the aroma. The mouthfeel is dry, medium bodied, and highly carbonated. The flavour is grains, yeast, tart fruit notes, and the oak comes through in the flavour on the back of the tongue. An enjoyable beer, but certainly not a sessionable beer. |

641 | Magnotta Brewery Double Drooling Dog Black IPA | Canada | American Black Ale | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 473ml can
6.4% ABV
Canned On: May 16, 2019
LCBO #255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Bronte / Main)
June 9, 2019
$3.25
The beer pours a translucent light coca-cola colour with a generous light tan coloured head which lasts several minutes. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, weak grapefruit, and grassy notes. The mouthfeel is full bodied, with average carbonation. The flavour is coffee, chocolate milk, and roasted malt. This is a decent porter or stout, but aside from a faint grapefruit aroma, and maybe some citrus peel flavour (both which can be found in overhopped stouts and porters) there is nothing to suggest this is a black IPA. NOTHING! |

The aroma is light grass, like, oranges, and ginger. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. There is a lot of lime in the flavour, and next to no beer. As with their other two radlers, this is a great tasting alcoholic juice beverage, but really isn’t beery enough for me to call a radler or shandy. |

It pours a very hazed orange gold with a thin creamy head which slowly recedes to a long lasting ring. The aroma is tart tropical citrus, grains, and funk. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with below average carbonation. The flavour is well balanced between the malted grains and the tart tropical fruit with the tartness lingering on the tongue for a while. Not bad for a year old gose, but I do wonder how it would have been if it was fresher. |

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 3 341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
May 23, 2019
Gift
This was a gift from a colleague and former friend. The beer pours a translucent pale straw colour with a bubbly white head. Effervescence is minimal, although the head lasts a few minutes. The aroma is stale cardboard, grass, and musty hops. Better than your average macro, but not in the same class as most craft pale lagers. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour is sweet corn malt, with very little in the way of a bitter hop finish. I will not be trying this beer again......ever! |
