The aroma is tropical fruit, musty hops, and biscuit malt. It’s definitely juicy. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is equally fruity with the grains and bitterness very well hidden. This could become a favourite. |

The aroma is cereal malts, weak herbal hops, some yeasty notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is “woody”. I can still taste the cereal malts, but the hops have become bitter and earthy. In fact, I’m not liking the flavour of this at all. |

481 | Insel-Brauerei Baltic Ale | Germany | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500ml bottle
7.5% ABV
Best Before: December 31m 2021
LCBO Outlet # 010 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Summerhill)
March 18, 2020
$3.70
The beer pours a light golden colour, translucent, with polenty of effervescence leading to a frothy snow white head. The aroma is very grainy and yeasty with some hints of herbal hops. Nothing in the aroma screams “Belgian”. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. So, while the aroma doesn’t say Belgian, the flavour is reminiscent of a light Belgian tripel. A sweet malt start, followed by light Belgian spiciness, and the definite flavour of a Belgian yeast. It’s a pretty decent beer, but it is still missing that ‘something’ |
