1826 | Nickel Brook Green Light | Canada | Berliner Weisse | 3.2
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 375ml draught
3.8% ABV
I tried this beer on July 20, 2012 at "Bar Volo" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a very hazed golden colour with a thick creamy white head which quickly dissipated. The aroma was tart fruit, funk, and some wheat. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour was tart earthiness, funk, and wheat. It truly lives up to the billing of a tart hefeweizen. Not sure I want to try another one of the style. |

Blueberries dominate the aroma, a good way. A little bit of sweet malt and not a lot else. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour definitely has hints of Scotch Ale in it as there is a definite molasses note, some sweet malt, graininess and a hint of blueberries. By the end of the beer, the alcohol was definitely noticeable in both the aroma and taste. |
