750ml bottle
6.0% ABV
King/Spadina LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
June 2, 2013
The beer pours a hazed yellow gold colour with a huge white head that lasts. Aroma is wheat malt, citrus, bananas, and spices. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is very distinctive, very unlike a typical German hefeweizen with notes of wheat, juicy grapefruit, and brief metallic tartness.

The aroma is roasted malt, yeast, and earthy notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, almost champagne-like, with above average carbonation. The beer pours a slightly hazed light gold colour with a very thin white ring for a head. The aroma is malted grains and a weak hint of lemon. 355ml bottle
5.0% ABV
Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
May 17, 2013
Lawnmower beer #3. The beer pours a hazed golden yellow colour with a thin white ring of a head, yet a thinner smaller ring than the shandy produced. The aroma is light wheat, grains, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with slightly above average carbonation. The flavour has a light fruity sweetness to it with a dose of wheat and grass. The extra carbonation does come as a surprise at first. A one and done beer at best.

Review #1000
750ml caged and corked bottle
10.0% ABV
Summerhill LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 15, 2013
The beer poured a lightly hazed, red-tinged golden colour with a long lasting rocky head. Aroma is Chimay yeast, orange and apple notes, spices and a hint of alcohol. Mouthfeel is full bodied, with good carbonation. Flavour is light fruits, the yeast and alcohol are certainly noticeable, and a bitter finish. Very similar to the Chimay White, with the alcohol definitely more noticeable.

750ml bottle
8.0% ABV
King/Spadina LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 10, 2013
Part of the Spring 2013 LCBO Dupont feature. The beer pours a hazed golden colour into a chalice with a long lasting rocky cap. Aroma is earthy funk, grains, light fruits and honey. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with medium to high carbonation (but not champagney). Flavour has a tart fruity start, with some grains and yeast. Has more of a saison-y feel than a Belgian Strong.

1695 Molson Canadian Wheat Lager Canada Pale Lager 2.4

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

473ml can
4.5% ABV
King/Spadina LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 5, 2013
Beer pours a hazed pale gold with a frothy white cap that didn't last long. The aroma was very similar to a regular Molson Canadian, not much to give any impression that this is a wheat beer. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with mild carbonation...certainly not as thin as a Molson Canadian. The flavour is a little more robust than Canadian with less phenolic notes and a hint of wheat. Still rather metallic and tart however.

1697 St. Peter's G-Free United Kingdom Blonde Ale 2.8

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

500ml bottle
4.2% ABV
King/Spadina LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 2, 2013
The beer pours a very translucent reddish gold with absolutely no head. The aroma is citrus, hops, grains, and spices. The mouthfeel is weak bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is spicy, almost gingery, with some hops and earthiness. Aside from the lack of head and weak body, it was an easy drinking beer. I wouldn't want more than a couple at a sitting hour as the gingeriness would get to me. I have to agree with slowrunner77 however as I can get Chimay Blue for less money (and it tastes a LOT better).

650ml bottle
7.0% ABV
RBC Plaza LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Ontario)
May 3, 2013
The beer pours a very hazy golden-orange colour with a long lasting white head. The aroma is citrusy hops, some tropical fruit, and caramel and grains. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is a mix of tropical fruit and citrus with some sweet malt as well. Easy to see why this has been a favourite of the Toronto beer crowd for the last 3-4 years.

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

330ml bottle
5.2% ABV
King/Spadina LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 1, 2013
Part of the Spring 2013 LCBO Dupont feature. The beer pours a translucent reddish-brown (when held to light) and a creamy brown head that quickly dissipated into a ring. Aroma is roasted malt, yeast, and burnt wood. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, but thin for a stout and carbonation is average. Flavour is tart and funky with some roasted malty notes, yeast, and maybe watered down coffee. A stout in name only. In the overall pantheon of beers, this is above average. In the overall pantheon of stouts, this is below average.
