The aroma is sweet caramel, cereal malt, weak maple notes, some yeast, and come herbal hops. The mouthfeel is weak to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is not as sweet as the aroma would suggest. Notes of caramel and maple, and hints of hops in the bitter finish. A little one dimensional but with calling it a ‘butter tart ale’, I think that is what they were going for.

Aroma was pine, citrus, and some grassy hints and some caramel tang. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour has a lingering grapefruit bitterness that hung around long after the beer was gone. There was some cereal and pepper in the flavour as well.

The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, light anise notes and vanilla. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, creamy, and average carbonation. Flavour is all roasted malt and very bitter coffee. No noticeable vanilla in the flavour, but more importantly, no noticeable alcohol flavour either.

500ml draught <br> 4.8% ABV <br> I tried this beer on December 16, 2011 at "Bar Volo" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a beautiful translucent red with a thin tan coloured ring for a head. The aroma consisted of some sweet malt, citrus hints, and grains. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was a decent balkance between the sweetness of the malt, and the mild grapefruity tasting hops. The hoppiest altbier I've ever had.

No bitterness that I can discern in the finish.

A very nice beer, too bad it’s a seasonal, and probably a one-off because this would be a great year round Black IPA.

The flavour is similar to the aroma with notes or roasted malt, coffee, and weak hops. For a beer that is only 6 weeks old, from a brewer I enjoy, this beer is a huge disappointment&#33;

The flavour is roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, and hints of light raspberry and graham crackers. The bitterness of the roasted malt and coffee means the beer doesn’t taste as good as it smells.
