1404 | Lickinghole Creek Heir Apparent | United States | Imperial Stout | 4.2
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 473ml can
11.7% ABV
Canned On: Spetember 4, 2018
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
December 26, 2018
$3.70
The beer pours a dark black with a thin creamy dark brown head. The aroma is roasted malt, milk chocolate, cinnamon, coffee, and vanilla. No peppers on the nose. The mouthfeel is full bodied, creamy, and amply carbonated. The peppers come through in the flavour along with the cinnamon and milk chocolate notes. The roasted malt is there, but you feel the peppers and alcohol as it goes down the hatch. |

1406 | Lickinghole Creek One Lion Imperial Stout | United States | Imperial Stout | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 750ml bottle
7.0% ABV
Bottled On: October 18, 2018
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
March 23, 2019
$11.20
First of all, at 7%, this is not an Imperial Stout, I don’t care what the brewer says. Maybe things are different in Virginia, but this beer falls short of the Imperial Stout on every beer web site. The beer pours black with a huge frothy brown head which doesn’t last very long. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and weak hints of dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. The beer is very one dimensional. |

This poured a beautiful maroon colour right out of the bottle with a beautiful raspberry aroma. The mouthfeel was crisp with some carbonation on the tongue. The beer started with a malty flavour with a lot of raspberry in it and finished with a crisp taste with a hint of raspberry. A truly wonderful experience for a fruit beer |

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 250ml bottle
3.50% ABV
I tried this on May 20, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This poured a purplish-black with a whitish head, which quickly faded. The aroma was primarily black currant with sour blueberries and grapes in the mix. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, and highly carbonated. The flavour was a mix of sour grapes, black currants, and finished off with some hoppy bitterness.

While this is classified as a beer, it was more of a low-alcohol wine experience......but a great experience. |

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 355ml bottle
5.3% ABV
I tried this beer on November 19, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a clouded golden-orange into the glass with almost no head whatsoever. Effervescence was on display. The aroma was sour, and musty. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, with medium-carbonation....although that may have been lost in the pucker. The flavour was malty with some possible green apple hints. Very tart. Definitely worth trying. |

Better than your average macro, but not in the same class as most craft pale lagers. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with above average carbonation.
