551 | Church-Key Friar Buck's Sarrasin | Canada | Spiced Beer | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 20oz draught
7.0% ABV
Bar Hop
January 30, 2014
The beer pours a hazed metallic gold colour with a long lasting white creamy head. Aroma is spices, grains, and some yeastifunkiness. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with above average carbonation. There is a definite sour component to the flavour that is balanced by a milky sweetness. An interesting and enjoyable brew by one of the first craft brewers I discovered and enjoyed! |

Ontario, Canada)
August 11, 2018
$2.95
The beer pours a slightly hazed golden colour with a thin bubbly off-white head which does not last. The aroma is grainy malt and earthy hops and nothing else, a simple aroma. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grainy malt with a weak hoppy finish. I know this beer is billed as a 'Session Ale' but everything about the aroma and flavour says pale lager, albeit a non-adjunct version of the style. |
