501 Carlsberg Lager (Export) Denmark Lager 2.6

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5

February 6, 1987
Gift
341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
$0.00
This is a classic beer. I remember the commercials as a child with the famed Carlsberg Clydesdales. Haven't seen those in years, makes me wonder if they still have those. This beverage has an alright aroma, typical beer aroma. The colour is a nice golden colour. It has a smooth mouthfeel. The taste is bland, similar to other beers of the style. One thing of note is that this beer tastes better cold than at room temperature.

502 Carlsberg Light (Canada) Canada Light / Lite Lager 3.1

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

September 17, 1987
Gift
355ml bottle
4.0% ABV
$0.00
Brewed in Canada by the Labatt Brewing Company Limited
For a light beer, this my preference so far. Much better than any other Light beer I've tried. The aroma here is similar to the main brand, so much so that I am unable to tell the difference. Again, like the main brand, it is golden in colour with a mouthfeel that is not offensive to the tongue. However, the flavour has slightly less bite than the parent brew.

503 Cascade Manhattan NW United States Abbey Quadrupel 3.7

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7

750ml bottle
10.3% ABV
Bottled On: June 6, 2017
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
March 23, 2019
$21.95
2015 Edition, Bottled in 2017 after aging. The beer pours a turbid Indian red colour with a short lived (and by short lived I mean seconds) white cap. The ring around the edge does last forever though. The aroma is tart chrries, yeast, sour grains, and an unrecognizable funky smell. The mouthfeel is puckering, medium to full bodied, with ample amounts of carbonation. The flavour is both very tart, and very fruity. The cherries aren’t as pronounced in the flavour as they are in the aroma but still there. Some grains and yeast are also present but this is a very sour beer. As previously stated, this is nowhere near quad like in what we have to think of is a quad. But it is quite good.

The taste is mellow with hints of malt and grains. An refreshing beer.

500ml bottle
5.5% ABV
Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
April 6, 2014
The beer pours a translucent medium gold colour with a generous white rocky head which lingers. The aroma is citrus hops, grass, and light fruits. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is bitter citrus (like the zest of a grapefruit), grass, and more light fruits. Refreshing and clean, but nothing outstanding enough to keep me coming back for more.

473ml can
3.5% ABV
Canned On: October 10, 2018
LCBO # 457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
May 8, 2019
$2.45
The beer pours a slightly hazed cherry red colour with a long lasting creamy light tan coloured head. The aroma is grass, raspberry jam, milk, and floral hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour is very fruit forward, a lot of raspberries crossing over the tongue. Also notes of tart fruit, grainy malt, and a weak hop finish. The sweet and tart raspberry flavours drown out any bitter hop notes that may exist.
