377 | Boxer Lager | United States | Pale Lager | 1.3
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 2 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 2 473ml can
5.0% ABV
Main/Bronte LCBO Outlet (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
July 29, 2010
$1.75
This is a strange beer. Heavily advertised on Canadian TV with the tag line "We sell it in Ontario for the minimum legal price....but we would sell it for less if we could". Well, it's certainly worth a lot less than the minimum legal price in Ontario. The beer poured a clear gold with a HUGE white bubbly head that did not last, although there was excess effervescence in the glass.. The aroma was metallic, acidic, and sweet. The mouthfeel was watery and medium carbonated. The flavour was sweet acid and wet steel. Yum Yum! |

378 | Brahma | Brazil | Pale Lager | 1.5
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 August 31, 2007
Smokeless Joe’s (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – 125 John Street)
355ml bottle
4.80% ABV
Brewed Under License in Canada by Labatt Brewing Company
Bottled On: Unknown
$6.55
The beer poured a translucent gold colour with a white head that disappeared quickly. There was a lot of effervescence. The aroma was very grassy with a hint of both malt and hops. The mouthfeel was crisp and thin with some mild carbonation. The taste was similar to other pale lagers with grassy tones. Another beer I didn't enjoy and would not push onto my friends. |

379 | Brahma Chopp | Brazil | Pale Lager | 1.1
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 2 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 2 341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
This is some god awful beer. Supposedly an upscale Brahma, it falls short of being upscale by any definition of the word. Very pale gold with a light ring formation. Corn syrup and metal make up the aroma. Flavour is phenolic and acidic. Needed to be shotgunned to get down. |

The beer poured a beautiful translucent red with a 1" off-white head that lingered a while. The aroma was sweet malt, and a definite hoppy sense. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, amply carbonated, and slightly bitter. The flavour was sweet malt, hops, and spicy. Easily drinkable. |

384 | Brasseur De Montréal Ghosttown | Canada | Spiced Beer | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 341ml bottle
6.6% ABV
Smokeless Joe (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
August 18, 2010
$8.95
The beer poured a solid black woth a this tan head. The aroma was overwhelmingly anise with roasted malt, coffee, and caramel all taking a back seat. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and creamy. The flavour was again roiasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate.....and anise. I'm not a huge licorice fan, so the power of the anise took away from the enjoyment of this beer, but anise aside, a solid effort. |

The aroma is light grains, yeast, citrus, and some tropical fruit notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with average carbonation and almost a hefeweizen feel. The aroma is funky, with notes of tart fruit and salt. There is some grains in the background but it is the salty and tart flavours that predominate. |

The aroma is definitely grapefruit which may or may not be masking both the fruit and hop aromas. Not much else to note except grapefruit. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is citrusy hops, some grapefruit, and weak sweet malt. Quite enjoyable actually. |

389 | BrewDog Paradox Edition 016 Isle of Arran | United Kingdom | Imperial Stout | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 330ml bottle
10.0% ABV
The Beerbistro (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
August 26, 2010
This is the Beer Idol beer. I'm not not into beer caps, so it doesn't really matter to me, but I didn't want my 'Beer idol beer' to be a Molson Canadian 67. The beer poured a solid dark brown colour with a bubbly tan coloured head. The aroma was dark fruits, roasted malt, coffee, and vanilla. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with medium carbonation...but thin for an Imperial Stout. The flavour was coffee, roasted malt, some caramel, and some vanilla. It's obviously a popular choice amongst the wait staff because every single one of them has made a positive comment about the beer as they've passed by. |

As a previous reviewer stated, I was in University when I first tried this. I was a slave to the mainstream breweries when this happened in my glass. To me, the aroma is fruity in nature, which made me skeptical from the beginning. Being colour blind, I will not comment on colour aside from saying it isn't dark, nor is it light. As for the flavour, I love it. It has a full flavour not found in a lot of mainstream beer. |

There is no head, but effervescence is lively. The aroma is light apple and Golden Horseshoe white wine (think Spumante Bambino). The mouthfeel is very light and heavily carbonated, again, more akin to a white wine than a cider. The flavour is light apple with hints of alcohol. It’s actually quite nice. I was a bit worried after trying their peach cider (which was more alcoholic soda pop than cider), but this is a good cider in my opinion. |

The aroma is sweet and tart raspberries, biscuit grains, and apples. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is strong on the raspberry with hints of apple in the mix. For me, as a lover of peaches, there is no peach in either the aroma or flavour. |

There is a thin white ring for a head, and excessive tiny bubble effervescence…..Don Ho would be proud! The aroma is ripe peaches, and light yeast. The mouthfeel is very much like a carbonated soda, overly carbonated and lively. The flavour is sweet peach. It boils down to this as being, in my opinion, an alcoholic peach soda…..and I can live with that! |

The aroma is grains, cereals, light citrus, herbal hops, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour has light citrus tones, grass, a little spiciness, and a hint of yeast. Very reminiscent of some session IPAs that have come out of Ontario the last few years rather than a pilsner |
