76 Breckenridge Avalanche Amber United States Amber Ale 3.0

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

Pours a dark copper color with a decent head that fades to some lacing. The aroma is of malt sweetness and a bit nutty. Nothing bad just a bit bland. The taste has the flavor of caramel sweetness, nuts and a bit tart. Nominal bitterness with a fairly clean finish. Again just a bit bland. It has a fairly moderate body, smooth and a bit creamy.

77 Troegs Hopback Amber Ale United States Amber Ale 3.1

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

Pours a cloudy reddish amber with a small off white head that sticks around for a while. The aroma is citrus peel hops dominate the smell. The taste is malt up front, but it's hardly sweet at all with some bready note from the grain. The finish is extremely bitter from the hops and reminds me of citrus peel. The mouthfeel is medium to thin body with lots of tingly carbonation and a dry finish.

78 Kentucky Ale United States Amber Ale 3.4

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Sampled at the Pub! Pours a clear, copper-colored with a white and creamy medium sized head that sticks around for a while, and leaves very good lacing on the glass. The aroma is primarily malts, caramel and bready, pleasant and rounded out with smells of earthy hops. The taste is a smooth and malty affair, with toffee and caramel notes with just a hint of bitterness. The mouthfeel is crisp with a high amount of carbonation with the body being in the medium range. The finish is smooth and easy drinking, with a light sweetness.

79 Samuel Adams Boston Ale United States Amber Ale 3.4

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

pours a clear amber/red with a short off white head with poor retention but a few spots of lacing managed to cling to the side of the glass. The aroma is fairly light earthy and floral qualities with a hint of citrus. Malt aromas aren't popping out too much. The taste is light apple, slight citrus and floral hops. The malt is a little too thin but it has a nice hop profile. Aftertaste is earthy and "smooth". The mouthfeel is medium body with medium carbonation. A nice drinkable beer.

83 Jumping Cow Amber Ale United States Amber Ale 2.9

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

Pours a deep orange amber with a fizzy bone head which dies to some thin islands with remarkable speed, and leaves no significant lacing. The aroma is rather faint, with little more than toasted malts. Alcohol esters appea after some warming. The taste is stronger and adds a touch of spicy hops to the solid, if too near to minimal, malt base. Very good bitter/sweet balance. The mouthfeel is medium body; slightly dry even before the semi-dry finish; very good carbonation.

Pours a golden amber color with a pretty thin head, which is gone in a flash, and leaves no lacing. The aroma is pretty hoppy, with a bit of tropical fruits, spice and a bit of grains and caramel malts. The taste is sweet from the malts, and a light tropical hop taste. The mouthfeel is medium in both body and carbonation.

85 Lost Coast Alleycat Amber Ale United States Amber Ale 3.4

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7

Pours a slighty murky brownish red color with a small off white head which has very little retention and leaves pretty much no lacing. The aroma is a bit of yeast spice, a touch of citrus and bready malts. The taste is quite a bit of orange, lemon, bit of pine and spice. Everything was pretty tame. The mouthfeel was on the lighter side of medium in body and carbonation seemed about middle of the road.

Pours a hazy amber copper like color forming a mid-sized and bubbled creamy head with not long lasting retention and leaving modest lacing in the glass. The aroma is very subtle, with predominantly sweet caramel malts and flowery hops. The taste is slightly sweet upfront with caramel, bread, and roasted malts with light hoppy bitter end. Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

pours a small white head with little retention with tons of lacing on a clear golden amber body. The aroma is of mild malts, not very sweet, more musty. The taste is very malty with sweet caramel pretty simple overall but really good. The mouth feel is light to medium body and moderate carbonation. Very refreshing. This is the best beer they make.

Pours a pale amber, with a thin off white head has nice retention and a bit of stickiness. The aroma is a biscuity malt with a hint of roast, maybe an earthy hop or two. The taste is caramel malt and bready malt in a nice combination. Finish is nicely, and unexpectedly filled with hoppy bite. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a rich malt base for the style. Overall this is a very nice example of the style.

90 Natty Greene's Buckshot Amber Ale United States Amber Ale 3.2

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

pour was a medium brown with a yellow hue and an average sized frothy off white head that diminished to a thin layer of residue and lasted throughout creating some really good spotty sticky lacing. The aroma was of mild bread and grain malts, an herbal hop and a sweet earthy yeast with notes of toffee and caramel. The taste was lightly sweet and malty with just a mild hint of toffee at first and then got a little hop bite with a nice caramel note at the end. The flavor lasted a decent amount of time with a slight hoppiness left at the finish. The mouthfeel was light bodied.

96 Oaken Barrel Indiana Amber United States Amber Ale 3.6

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

pours with a delightful firebrick crimson and with nearly brilliant clarity. A light and creamy off white head caps the beer before relegated to a lace around the glass with broken pockets of foam that lace the glass behind each sip. The aroma is malty-rich and delivers a moderately strong scent of deep caramel, toffee even, along with more robust notes of brown sugar and toasted grain. Sweet breads and light plumby fruitiness round out the malt-forward aromas. The taste starts out with the sweet taste of toffee, brown sugar, and bready malts, the presence of hops aren't noticed until the mid palate introduces sharp citrus zest of oranges, grapefruit, and a spicier piney note that develops into a balanced bitter taste that offsets the malt sweetness in finish and aftertaste. The mouthfel is medium bodied, with light carbonation.

pours a hazed copper color with a small beige head that had good retention and left a good amount of lacing on the glass. The aroms is fruity with citrus hops and a lot of brown sugar sweetness. The taste is a pretty sweet pale ale with more of a brown sugar flavor as opposed to a caramel one, but it's sweet. The hops provide both citrus notes along with some tea like bitterness. The mouthfeel is smooth and medium bodied with carbonation on the high side.

The taste is very well balanced with bigger malt character than other reds with medium hops. The mouthfeel retains a surprising amount of carbonation. Manages to be fizzy with a medium body.
