226 Great Lakes Brewery Cloud Cutter United States American Wheat 2.7

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5

pours a slightly hazy golden yellow, with nice white head that hangs around for while leaving nice lacing. The aroma is lemon peel, coriander, and wheat malt. The taste is to hoppy, really ruins it, Wheat beers do not need to be IPAs. The mouthfeel is medium bodied which required more carbonation. This beer was just bitter and flat!

230 Magic Hat Stealin' Time United States American Wheat 3.4

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7

pours a light gold color with a large dense white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass. The aroma contains wheat, citrus, light caramelized malts and a touch of hops. The taste starts out bready with flavors of wheat and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. Then some sweetness comes in from flavors of citrus and caramel. The hop presence is mild but complementary and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet. The mouthfeel is crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation.

231 Portsmouth Brewing Circleville Pumpkin United States American Wheat 3.6

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

pours a nice cloudy golden color, with medium sized white head, leaving nice lacing. The aroma is typical for wheat beer with some pumpkin thrown in. I was dreading the taste as I hate pumpkin beer, however, it was nice, very little pumpkin flavor which actually complemented the wheat beer. First time ever that I found a pumpkin beer I like. The mouthfeel was light / medium bodied with ample carbonation.

232 Great Lakes Sharpshooter Session Wheat IPA United States American Wheat 3.0

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

pours a hazed dark yellow-orange color, with small frothy white head. Retention is below average considering the style and little lacing is left. The aroma is wheat, with surprising lemon with orange peel undertones, herbal/floral hops with a touch of citrus and light peppery spiciness. The taste lots of orange peel, neutral wheat, lemon with moderate bitterness, which is a bit too much and herbal and floral hops. The mouthfeel was medium body with moderate carbonation.

233 New Belgium Snapshot United States American Wheat 2.9

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

pours a hazy light yellow, with a small white head. The aroma is somewhat tart, with wheat, grain, and lemon. The aroma is not very strong, and not very appealing. It tastes much like the aroma, not a very strong or appealing taste, seems like the taste may be watered down. The mouthfeel is thin and watery, with moderate carbonation

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

Pours a golden straw color, transparent and not much head retention. The aroma is mild, but some faint orange zest is noticed. The taste is also very mild. There are some slight citrus notes, maybe oranges, possibly pears, but overall the beer seems very light and mild, even for its style. The mouthfeel is light-bodied.

238 Bell's Oarsman Ale United States American Wheat 4.0

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Pours a cloudy straw yellow color, looks like a lighter colored version of a wheat beer. There is a bit of a white head that dissipates fairly quickly. leaving a very thin layer of bubbles across the top. The aroma is tart and funky. Also can detect a hint of lemon and bread dough. The taste is a bit on the citrus side, a bit like lemon and a sour orange. The sweet and sour balances well, so neither become overwhelming. The mouthfeel is fairly smooth, with a little bite from the carbonation and is a light to medium bodied.

239 Abita Blueberry Wheat Harvest Series United States American Wheat 4.0

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Pours a light hazy gold color with nice sized thick eggshell colored head. Not very long lasting. Okay lacing. Medium carbonation. Aroma is fruity, blueberry a little tart. Also pick up a little cracker, wheat is in there, but it’s not strong. Taste is light tart. Taste is also fruity and crackers. It’s interesting. A touch bitter, a little tart. The pilsner malts give it some smoothness, and lessens the wheat taste which can be heavy at times. The blueberry flavor is light, but noticeable. I also notice some very light spicy hops. Mouthfeel is light and refreshing. Very easy to drink, very enjoyable.

241 McAuslan St. Ambroise Blé de L'Apricot / McAuslan St. Ambroise Apricot Wheat Canada American Wheat 3.6

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Pours a nice clear golden amber with a mild orange tint and tons of bubbles and a small frothy head that quickly dispatches to a lace ring. The aroma is like apricot preserve or jam. The wheat is also very noticeable along side of sugary malts. The taste is wheat and yeast and apricot. The fruit flavor in this is pleasant but more prickly with tart fruit and sharp carbonation. The wheat does come back in the finish. The mouthfeel is light and crisp with a sharp bubbly level of carbonation. Kind of like champagne.

No aroma of spice or fruit at all. The taste has a sweet honey taste with a soft wheat bread note. The finish is a very soft bitterness that is not distinctly hops. As the beer warms there is a note of pale malt in there too. The mouthfeel is medium bodied.

248 Samuel Adams Summer Ale United States American Wheat 2.8

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

pours a cloudy yellow color with no head, with no retention, and no lacing. No real carbonation or bubbles activity. The aroma is grains, a hint of citrus and lemon, a bit of malt, and not much else. There is not much going on in the aroma, and what is going on doesn’t smell very good. The taste isn't that great with grains and a little wheatness are acceptable, but the lemony/citrusy flavoring just ruins it. I couldn’t get past the artificial fruit flavoring and how bad it was. The mouthfeel is sticky sweet, with a moderate body with a little carbonation.

250 Big Sky Montana Trout Slayer Ale United States American Wheat 3.5

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Pours a semi-clear, golden straw color with a small head, below average retention, leaving behind a sparse, semi-sticky lace. The aroma is crisp wheat, backed by sweet notes of bread and grass, and the faintest whiff of lemon. The taste follows the aroma with crisp wheat flavors complimented by a healthy amount of grainy breadiness, bittersweet grassy notes, and finishes with a slightly sour, mild lemon hop aftertaste. The mouthfeel is light to medium body and is crisp and refreshing. Overall an excellent beer, great for hot days, but also good any other time.
