A truly great beer - I pity those reviewers who have only tried this once and then only in bottle (its very good in bottle - but thats not the point) This is an EXCEPTIONAL English summer ale - perhaps THE pinnacle of its type. Light straw colour, light body (this is for drinking in the garden behind the pub - probabily sunday lunchtime) good balanced bitterness. But the aroma is everything, complex hops that persist until your next mouthful - floral indeed but not prissy - intersting but not overpowering. Its a beer that you return to at every opportunity.

I have the good fortune to live 10 miles from the brewery - so its readily available nearby - I drink it often. A good classic & genuine yorkshire beer, light and slightly sweet - locally served it has a creamy head but little spritz in the ale itself. Aroma is I think a disapointment & somehow lacking. Its not very bitter or hoppy. However - somehow it is easily recognisable. This isnt a 'great' beer to examine & ponder - but a good, honest session beer to enjoy drinking by the pint in company. In bottle - a close match to the real thing (except the CO2 of course). I value this as a true yorkshire beer, not trying to be anything else - thats what makes it great.

I personally dont appreciate honey beers - i do try honestly! - but its the honey aroma & flavour which ultimately spoils it for me. Shame because otherwise this beer is OK. Do try it - maybe its to your taste? But this beer is I think something the marketing team have 'had a go at' for reasons best known to themselves.
