  Starts with a fruity aroma and like most IPAs, has a bite from the 10 different hops used in this special brew. Has a nice cooper color in the glass and a nice head out of the bottle. At 8.5%, I expected a hard bite,but was pleasently surprised that it drank smooth. This is a great start to Saranac's High Peaks Series. Having lived in Saranac regine my entire drinking life, I can't wait for whatever is next. Warning, this is a sipping beer, great with a meal. Not a party.

  Spanish Peaks Black Dog Ale

  Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7

  This lite amber english ale has a pleasent aroma with a slight bitter taste that is easy to drink. It is full flavored smooth to the tongue. Wish I could get this one on tap, but as it is brewed in Montana, I have to settle for bottles. You have to give this one a try if you can find it.

  Lake Placid Frostbite Pale Ale

  Nice cooper ale with just a bite of hops to wake your mouth. Not too bitter, with a malty sweetness that makes this a fine drink for any time. Enjoy with a meal at the brewpub or pick up a six pack for home. Cold crisp taste you will want again and again.
