About:
I like beers that I like. I'm not partial to styles as long as it tastes good.

Had several of these over the weekend at the Bottleworks. Served in a snifter(not sure why). Black with small thick head. One of the smoothest, easiest drinking stouts I have had. Coffee, chocolate, matly and a little dry. They were pouring a ton of these, so I wasn't the only one enjoying this St Louis brew.

Was it worth the wait and anticipation? Yes and no. Although it was exciting drinking the true king of beers, I have to say there was little difference between this beer and some of the other Abbeys I have had that are available close to home. I have 5 left and look forward to drinking them and maybe adding to this review.@@@@@@@@Tried my second one. Had the temp right(45 F). Much, much better.. Fruitty smell. Awesome taste. Looking forward to the next.

My dog got sprayed by a skunk. Someone told me to wash her with tomato juice and beer. Not wanting to bath my dog with a $12 bottle of imperial stout, I went to the store and bought the cheapest beer I could find. It worked because she doesn't smell like a skunk anymore, just Natty Light. Honestly, I'm not sure which was worse!

Went to Mexico and this is all I could find in some places. One of the worst I have ever had. I should have known when reading other reviews that the only ones giving it high marks were either beer-bongers or wanting to throw in that they were "surfers". YUK!

Great beer to celebrate Christmas Eve. Pours a heavy, blackish brown color with very little head. A little dark fruit, lots of chocolate and coffee, and an awesome bourbon flavor. Lots of alcohol, but it compliments the bourbon taste. This is by far one of the best beers I have had.
