About:
I travel through Europe in search of great beer when I'm not teaching at military bases in Kuwait/Kosovo--where there is not beer at all.

I've had this one many times and find it to be a good example of the porter style. It has a good depth and a hint of chocolate without getting overpowered by it.

I'm not a big fan of the maibock style, prefering the darker version. But this is a good one even for me, and fans of maibock should enjoy it quite a lot. It avoids the usual problem of being cloyingly sweet.

This is a very good oatmeal stout, not as sweet as some, but with good malt in it and very good body. I often enjoy alternating the stout with their IPA as they complement each other very well.

This is delightfully hoppy! I have had many many IPA experiences, but the Hall's is one of my favorites. It is (like many of the better IPA brews in America) a bit like Sierra Nevada. But it is also very comparable to what you would find in a good English pub. Town Hall does make theirs with the intention of it being served at a colder temperature than you would generally find in England, but it works well. Besides, if you like it a little warmer, it tastes very good after sitting for a bit. This is one of my most beloeved beers anywhere.

First, U Fleku is virtually a must-go in Prague for the beer drinker. It has a festival atmosphere--live old-fashioned music, lots of outdoor seating--and the staff just circulates with trays of the house beer and shots of what I think is their bitters. No waiting! You have an empty glass, unless you tell them no, they pop down another one in front of you. A very tasty brown beer, porter-like in taste. A bit sweet, but that's pretty well in line with other darker Czech beers. Good rocky head and some tastiness in the foam itself. A very smooth beer, very good for a session or for lingering over. I loved the shots as well. Anyway, this is one of the places to go!
