wow, when i bought this i said "this is probably the worst beer you guys have isn't it" to the cashier. he laughed and said, "probably, except something like the beast light is probably just as bad, but with less alcohol." i figure he is right and knows what he's talking about. normally, after work, i can normally find any beer refreshing, but all i welcome on this one is the buzz. busch would be a giant step up from this one. it is pretty bad, the first beer i've been really glad came in a clear bottle because that way, no matter how dying i am to see what it looks like, i don't have to pour it in a glass, keeping the aroma contained by the small mouth. a light struck flavor would be an improvement. when i swished it around in my mouth i had to squint. swallowing is quite the conscious effort. if it did not have alcohol, i would never drink this again. i guess that is why they don't make non-alcoholic malt liquors. the urge to smoke when drinking is most often overwhelming, though normally a good beer will help me stave off the urge. with this, i smoke more so i can drink it fast, for fear it gets warm, despite a couple reviews here touting that it gets better with a bit of warming, i don't want to risk finding out. i can tell how strong it is by the length of the reviews. it says the steel brewing company, fort worth - i would be surprised if the city of ft. worth complained about this, but they should, but they are ft. worth, so i know they won't. it is fitting. god, to think that sometimes the aroma i roll my windows down for and refrain from smoking in the morning for, coming out of the brewery as i drive by, is perhaps the once in a while the manufacture of this, that's what makes that kind of brewing "industry". they even concede it in the description - "twice as long as many quality brews" - like they know this is not a quality brew, yet somehow, despite brewing an unthinkable 28 days, twice that of many quality brews, it still tastes how it does. i'm tempted to just put my cigarette butt in the last four fingers left in the fourty, but i'm just too much of a drunk to do that. cisco, night train, and md 20/20 are the jerry springer to this beer.

nice one that guy. this one has a bit more sweetness than say the bull or colt, but it's still only really good for making the head taste good, not the mouth. i used to think this was the most vile of all malt liquors, i guess the years of smoking and drinking and living have taken a toll on the taste buds, but i'd still not buy it if i just wanted a refreshing beverage. i'm sure i'll drink it again, cause i'm poor right now, and it works. it tastes fresh, i'd love to sample it at the brewery and buy a t shirt; it's probably the most popular can under a brown paper bag. if i could find it on tap, and be able to be in the kind of place that would have it on tap, other than the brewery, i'd love to sample it.

of course this beer does not have any strong traits as far as flavor goes, i'm not even pouring it into a glass, as i know what it is going to look like, and the thin neck of the bottle helps hide any unpleasantries. i will say that i love the retro look and the puzzles under the cap. it's damn refresing in texas summer, and does have a slightly distinctive taste, i'd bet i could pick it out of a blind tasting, though probably not by just looking at it. i'm not going to say this is crap, if it disappoints then you had too high of expectations for the money you paid. the thing is, this doesn't taste much better/worse than anything else available at the gas station, but it's got character and tradition, and i'd be pissed if it went away like pearl seems to be.

not the most interesting, but refreshing with a bit more body than i'd expected. a little creamy, not very crisp. the main element of crip that is there comes from carbonation and alcohol, though i don't feel a whole lot of alcohol either. very light yellow-straw, thin looking. head looks a little better, but not much and would not be saying much anyway. a more than fair amount of adjunct, corn or perhaps maize. does not represent el sal very well, not any better than that semi-syndicated street gang. don't feel bad having a smoke in its presence, though a nice cigar would be better than this marlboro light, but then again a nice pilsner urquell would be better than this pilsener. tastes better out of bottle than in a glass.

a great dryness, sorta candy sweet. i picture european kids drinking lots of this at the lake or rivers in summer, but it would go with cold weather as well. it's the new corona in some places, but a lot more pleasant and drinkable. still, it's not worth all that much, mass produced but better than the us big brews. citrus and almost spritzy. lt gold medium yellow color, clean and refrined appearance. it's better than hein. but harder to find and costs more, but for less money you can get a better drink. i noticed that they drank a bunch of it in project greenlight, not a bad sponsor.
