Fancy name for what tastes like an amber lager. Slightly amber in color. Small head that vanishes quickly. Tastes bland and watery. Part of a summer sampler that wasn't that impressive.

Pretty average Hefe. Only slightly cloudy with no residue in the bottle typical of better Hefe's. Light bodied and drinkable but certainly nothing memorable.

Note: case was aged 11 months. Looks like a normal pilsner in the glass then I noticed its cloudy appearance. Nice dense head. Smell is strong and almost rancid. Taste has hints of grapefruit with a bitter finish. Alcohol is very well masked. Flavors mello as it warms, gets less bitter and more tasty. Something about this brew makes me keep coming back for more! The only down side is the $44/case price tag (and I live in Pennsylvania where it's brewed).

Beer # 3 of a 4 beer sampler. Just like the others these beers are ok but nothing special. Boring. Don't know how you classify this as ale. Almost no taste. Smells like a cheap domestic. I won't be coming back for another of their sampler cases. Too expensive for beers that are just ordinary.

At 4.8% ABV I wasn't expecting much but this pale ale is somewhat tasty. Nice dense head that stays around awhile. Slightly dry and slightly bitter aftertaste with a nut-like (or is it butery) flavor. But the bad news (for me anyway) is that it's part of an overpriced sampler case. If I'm going to spend $31 for a case I expect the beer in it to be stronger than 5%.
