We're the UK's newest and most exciting independent brewery. We're also the only UK brewery to produce all of our beers according to the Reinheitsgebot, the German Purity Law, brewing only with the simplest and purest ingredients — water, malt, hops and fresh yeast. This means you're getting the freshest and tastiest beers of the highest quality. Our aim is simple — to brew the best beer anywhere. We're producing a full and fresh range of authentic European beers right here in Glasgow. And you can enjoy your beer in the traditional surroundings of our big German beer hall on Glasgow Green, whilst watching the brewers at work. Make sure you sample something from our delicious and varied menu to compliment your beer. You can also find WEST beers across a selection of pubs, restaurants and hotels throughout the UK. When we opened the doors on the 11th of March 2006 to our new brewery in Glasgow, it was the realisation of six years of planning and dreaming. We founded West Brewing Company in order to achieve a simple aim - to bring the freshest and best beer to the good people of Glasgow. We are a true family business, and we love our home town, so we're very passionate about brewing great beer for you. It all started pretty simply really...with a search for good beer. We loved the tradition and quality behind the wonderful beer and breweries of Bavaria and elsewhere throughout Germany, and thought it'd be a great idea to replicate exactly that here in Glasgow. From this wee acorn of an idea, grew the brewery you see today. Your two brewers, Gordy and Dave, went all the way to Munich to hone their skills, and are now producing your favourite beers as fully qualifed Braumeisters. We brought more than skill back with us too. We brew on what is one of the UK's most advanced small brewing systems, using all-imported malt and hops and serving it in our unique glasses for you to enjoy. If you'd like, we'll show you round too. If one of the brewers is available and has time, they'd love to give you a glimpse of the brewery. We've focussed on every detail in our brewery upstairs too, as our big German-style beer hall demonstrates, with its solid wood panelling, big maple tables, bench seating and of course, warm pretzels to go with your cold beer. We've left nothing out. It's all here for you to discover. It's worth remembering too that we're a full production brewery, and sell the vast majority of what we produce off-site, to other discerning establishments throughout the UK - so keep your eyes peeled for WEST in your local. That also means that you can come and watch us brew from the comfort of our beer hall, because we've designed it so you can see us mashing, boiling, filtering, hopping...we're passionate about your passion for beer and want you to feel involved.
