Founded in early 2011, we completed our build out and became licensed on Oct. 31st, 2011… Halloween. We are a family owned and operated business set up in the lower level of Sugar Grove Gathering Place in Newton, Iowa. Our story began as many others had: a fascination with beer, the many different styles and processes of brewing, the extensive history of this versatile beverage, home brewing, and of course, consumption of beers big and small, from every corner of the world. The eventual result of all this has evolved into a commercial nano-brewery. While our capacity is quite small, all our beers are hand crafted and unfiltered, offering you the most true and pure representation of traditional beer styles. VHBC employs an all natural brewing process incorporated from Belgian, German, and American brewing practices, executed on a custom designed brewhouse. We are excited to offer four styles to the public, available through reputable Cafes and Alehouses in Eastern and Central Iowa. Ask your local pub to give it a shot, support Iowa beer, and Prost!
