Nova Scotia’s long, proud tradition of brewing the best beer is inseparable from The Oland Brewery’s legacy and employees. Our history of brewing beer started in Dartmouth, under the name “Army and Navy,” just a few months after confederation. Over the years there have been a lot of changes. The brewery is now in the North End of Halifax, there are many more brands of beer, and it is part of a much bigger brewing operation. What has not changed — and never will — is the craftsmanship that goes into making the beer, and the pride that we have in being part of our community. Brewery became a division of Labatt's in 1971, and is still operational today.
