Neringa
Neringa was opened in November 6, 1959. The authors of the project and name for the then-café were Algimantas and Vytautas Nasvyciai. The interior of Neringa was also created by artists Vladas Jankauskas, Vytautas Povilaitis (mural painting), sculptor Juozas Kedainis. In November 5, 1970 the interior was listed among State Protected Monuments of Lithuanian Architecture. The restaurant is famous for its cultural activities and people: since 1969 it has been called Cradle of Jazz and is renowned for jazz concerts and continued tradition of organising Vilnius Jazz Festival, such A. Nobel prize winners as Andrej Sacharov, poet Josif Brodsky, who wrote the poem Neringa Café, were frequent guests there. After capital repairs in 2001 today Neringa welcomes you with 2 light and cosy halls admitting 150 people, the banquet hall for30 people and the café-bar located in the basement, which admits 80 people.
