We are a craft beer focused beer and wine tavern. Before The Monk’s Kettle opened its doors in December 2007, the choices for beer in San Francisco were far too few. There were plenty of wine bars, yes, but not much in the way of the beverage we all love to love. We wanted to remedy that. For beer selection, we have 24 draughts with a focus on regional breweries, and 100 in the bottle so that most styles are represented. With a focus on education and accessibility, we have arranged our list by style, with a description of each. Our staff is well-versed in our selections to help our customers find the right brew for them, and to help learn more about different beer styles. To help balance our beer selection, we offer a smaller wine list, and a food menu that features gourmet pub food using as many local, organic, sustainable and artisan ingredients as possible. Our goal is to create a fun-loving environment where people can enjoy themselves with a few friends while partaking in high quality food and drink. We hope we succeed in that, and look forward to seeing you soon.
