A second venue, the Snug Pub which began operation in 1997, is a cozy, well-appointed, alehouse with an inviting fireplace and intimate coves for small groups. Mother McGintey's and Roisin Dubh (The Black Rose), up and running since 2001, complete the Irish Village -each a treasure in its own way and a nostalgic reminder of the old sod. The pride and joy of the Village is its annual Fleadh held each September - a festival that celebrates Irish culture in song, music, literature and dance. Part of the Bytown Days celebration, the event has become one of the highlights of the Ottawa-Irish calendar.
