Links: Sign Up to Participate:Hanby ales was set up in 1988 following the closure of the Shrewsbury and Wem Brewery Ltd. The aim was to continue the two hundred year tradition of brewing in Wem. On 22 February 1990 the brewery was moved lock, stock and barrel from a rented building to the purpose built structure we use today. As trade increased the brewery was expanded up to our current capacity of 100 barrels per week. The delivery area has also expanded to cover Cheshire, Lancashire, Shropshire, Derbyshire, Merseyside, Manchester, Staffordshire, North Wales and the West Midlands. Hanby ales has won many prizes for the excellence of their beers all brewed by traditional methods with the finest raw materials. New beers are brewed on a monthly basis and usually take into account any special occasions or celebrations.
