In April of 2013, a group of beer lovers launched Gizmo Brew Works. Gizmo Brew Works represents the thinkers, tinkerers, and inventors who make up the Umstead Industrial Park and RTP, which we call home. It also represents the new ownership group, many of whom are engineers. Gizmo Brew Works inherited a 2 barrel brew system making it the smallest production brewery in North Carolina. However we are working to change that. Several infrastructure projects are in the works including upgrading hot water, tank cooling equipment, and installing trench drains. Soon capacity will be boosted by adding several 7 barrel fermenters allowing us to more than double our capacity. Plans call for installing a new 7 barrel brew system in the beginning of 2014. Currently, we sell our delicious, boutique beers in 64oz. growlers and draft. You can find our beer in some of the finest retail and restaurant/bars in the Raleigh/Durham and Greensboro markets. Because of our painstaking process for brewing with an “Old World” sensibility, we self-distribute our beer…straight from our brewery to our customers…ensuring the absolute freshest beer possible. There is no chance that our beer sits in a hot warehouse or on a loading dock in the sun. We have a taproom in our brewery where guests enjoy live music, tours, and food trucks on the weekends.
