We love East Tennessee so much that when we were first approached by Kenny Anderson about a brewery cooperative concept, it only made sense. Why not create a brewery cooperative when: We love craft beer We love to brew craft beer We love to brew craft beer and share it with people who also love craft beer We love to brew craft beer with people who also love to brew craft beer Yes, the amazing beer capital of the South, Asheville, is just a hop, skip and a hike away. But with so many people in East Tennessee who are becoming die-hard craft beer lovers, the time has come to celebrate and encourage the beer scene on our side of the mountains. Bluetick Brewery is every beer lover’s dream and a reprieve for homebrewers in the area. With its warm atmosphere and appreciation for the community, Bluetick is also a great environment for your casual beer drinker who inevitably will expand their beer horizons. Bluetick Brewery Cooperative was formed by the people, for the people to drink with the people. The brewery looks forward to charter co-op members voting in the set of house beers that will always be on tap with a continual say as to what seasonal and experimental beers they want to see brewed. With the constant rotation of beers, Bluetick will always provide something new, different and inspiring. In order to protect our backyard of the Smokies and encourage a more resourceful, responsible and healthier environment for future generations, Bluetick Brewery is joining the growing band of breweries who are putting sustainable practices in the forefront of their brewery mission. Bluetick looks forward to being an influence to the developing beer industry by triggering a new way to look at brewing green. As a husband and wife team, Sarah recalls when Christopher first approached her about homebrewing. She heard the typical line that most, if not ALL homebrew spouses here: “It’s really cheap to brew and since I am brewing beer, we will save money because we don’t have to buy beer.” Hmmmm….somehow instead of not buying beer, it appeared soon after Christopher’s first brew, that they were buying more beer than ever (market research of course!). Thus when Sarah was approached about opening a brewery together, it came as no surprise. We are Tennessee transplants in love with the mountains, the trails, the people, the river sittin’, romping around with our Bluetick hound and the flavor of the South. Put all of that in a keg and you have one great beer. Stop in and let us pour you a pint.
