What do a couple of beer executives know about brewing beer? Turns out a lot less than we thought. The idea to leave our jobs and start our own brewery, like most good businesses, started over a couple of beers. During those early discussions we tried to find common ground on the type of beers we wanted to create and how we wanted to share our passion for brewing. The beer helped fuel great stories of where we grew up and the early years of raising our families. There was a common thread in these stories that revolved around family outings at places like Sand Lake in Sugar Camp, Wisconsin or beaches in South Carolina and Florida. We both shared the love of hanging out on the water with our families, usually drinking good beer. The name Big Bay Brewing was uncovered in one of our longer story sessions. The name itself sort of became a catalyst for us actually moving forward with the project. It made everything seem so much more real, and it allowed us to apply not only our passion for beer, but also our passion for life. We really do believe that life on the water is a little bit sweeter, hopefully you agree, and find that our beers and sodas conjure up memories of those endless summer afternoons on the water, and more importantly, help create new ones.
