Time to saddle up... Barrel Aged Highwaymen is back! For this go around, we decided to double-oak in both Four Roses Bourbon and Wild Turkey Rye barrels, from there we added custom made and selected oak spirals for added complexity. The result is a galloping ride for the senses. These beautiful American oak barrels lend those quintessential flavors and aromas of vanilla and butterscotch. On the pallet we're getting crème brûlée, deep oak, and spiced plum jam, which are complimented by a velvety mouthfeel that begs for another sip. Let this one warm up a touch to unlock those nuanced flavors and complexities.

Dark green waxed 12oz bottle pours with a slightly murky copper body that support a thin off white head ring of bubbles. The taste delivers molasses, toffee, raisins, plums and then boozy butterscotch candy. The taste delivers a smooth blend of plums, raisins, molasses and toffee as well as a modest degree of tasty bourbon booziness. To midway it picks up a fair amount of sweet butterscotch candy just as the smooth boozy bourbon to woody barrel character notes bubble to the surface. This is well integrated, balance and a smooth rich sipper. This is a terrific deep balanced barleywine.
