Townsite's Brewer Engineer, Cedric, is Belgian so naturally he chose to brew styles from his homeland for this limited edition series. You will recognize the beers from this series by the Canadian-Belgian flag on the label. The first vessel to kick off this series is the Charleston, the first of the hulks to arrive in Powell River and the first style is a Triple, a classic Belgian style that dates back to the Cistercian monks. These monks began being noticed for their delicious brews and demand became such that they began brewing 'Dubbel' batches, loading the mash tun with extra barley. Once again, Dubbels became very popular so someone had the grand idea to create a 'Triple'. Charleston is 8.5% alcohol, golden blond, dry, crisp, hoppy and - dare we say - delicious!
