Our interpretation of the classic ale that originated in Glasgow, Scotland. A full-body ale, rich in malt complexity. Brewed with both English and American barley and many, many specialty malts allowing hints of roasted chocolate, caramel and raisins with very little hop presence.

Pours a very dark red/amber with a sub one finger head that goes down fairly quick. Carbonation is fairly decent. Aroma is chocolatey with hints of hoppy bitterness. Very sweet to the nose. Taste is kinda thick for the body. Hints of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Hints of that Scotch style sweetness as well. Flavor is a tad better than the last few from the brewery I have had. Finishes off pretty much non-existent. In a way blends a scotch ale with a dark roasted porter. Very nice.

Another nice offering from Town Hall. Really impressed with the beers here. Pours a dark, but clear reddish brown. Nice finger sized off white head. Taste is rich, biscuity, red peppers, almongs and cinnamon. Aroma is sweet, fruity and rasiny.

While some prefer the direr "biscuity" style of Scotch ales, I like this big and mildly sweet rendering. It is almost always my last beer of the night and often the key player in a session.
