Tasted on tap at the Pizza Port Strong Ale Festival 12/5/2008. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a slightly hazy medium orange gold color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is dark fruit, yeast and caramel. A very full bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, lots of yeast and caramel. The hops are fruity and floral. Very smooth taste, yet very thick and viscous. The alcohol is very noticeable, but it does not have the hotness that one would assume with a 14 percent plus beer. Perhaps a touch of wood as well. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
