A stunningly rich, malty barleywine paired with a gentle rest in freshly emptied, charred oak bourbon barrels. This is the first time Bucket of Bolts has been Barrel Aged.

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

375ml bottle pours with a mahogany colored body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a fair load of booziness to start and then stirring up notes of caramel, bourbon, prunes, figs and dates and then a bit more booze into the end of the draw. The taste delivers soft supple malt sweetness that quickly gives way to a rush of booze and bourbon barrel character. To midway the esters surface along side some of the reduced sugars. I get stewed prunes, dates and then a touch of blunted caramel soaked spicy oak. This checks all the boozy sipper boxes and comes across as a great experience.
