This is our interpretation of the premium traditional session bitter ales of England. A pleasing fruit aroma; a light caramel malt flavour, and a distinctive tea and woodsy hop character. Like most session ales, these beers are meant to be savoured through your evening drinking shift at your favourite local. English Special Bitter, much like the premium session ales of England. This beer has the distinctive woodsy and tea like hop character, that is very typical of most English ales. This ale is very drinkable and has terrific balance. Appearance: light amber Aroma: faint fruit, orange pekoe tea, light caramel Flavour: light caramel malt sweetness, woodsy and tea leaf hop bitterness Finish: fruit, lingering hop bitterness Alcohol: 4.7% Style of Beer: English Bitter Food Pairings: Food Pairings: Charcuterie, English cheeses, pate; awesome with pickled veggies; sandwiches, burgers. Pork: grilled chops, sausages, Lamb; roasted, grilled chops Chicken: roasted, grilled, fried Seafood: Grilled fish stronger flavoured fishes do better, crab cakes; fish and chips, fried clams, calamari. Pasta: cream based sauces work best. Stews; pot pies, shepard’s pie, cottage pie, meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and gravy. This is an extremely versatile beer with food; pretty much cannot go wrong with this one.
