Small Batch Series No. 8 Unlike its American barleywine counterparts that showcase their hop character, this English-style barleywine highlights a complex malt profile. It pours a rich, deep brown and features notes of caramel, toffee, ripe fruit, and leather. It’s strong and complex with a soft background of spice giving depth to the malt flavors and providing an overall balance. At 10% ABV, it’s made to be laid down like a fine wine, and the character can change significantly with proper cellaring. Enjoy this rich, complex beer now, and age another for later!

    Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

No. 8 pours a rich golden caramel colored hazy body. The cap is a thin ring that dosent leave any lace. Aromas of toffee and caramel malts, nice fruity presence, honey, and booze. Mouthfeel is thick and hearty, fair amount of carbonation gives it a slight bite. Flavors of toffee and caramel malts, sweet honey some nice bittering from the hops, non distinctive fruits, leather, and some hot booze. Overall it would benefit from some age for sure to tone down the heat, besides that its complex, and tasty. Worth a try.
