Rich mahogany pour with a small off white head that settles as a ring on top of the glass. Some sporadic lacing. Aromas of dates, figs, caramel and hint of hops. Tastes as it smells, with the dark fruit leading the flavors with some butterscotch and some drying, earthy hops on the finish. A slight boozy aftertaste that disappears as the beer warms a bit. A pretty solid barleywine.
