A reddish orange body that had a strong smell of alcohol. This young barleywine, 2006 version, was very smooth and delicious. Initially I tasted the alcohol and fruitiness. There were no hops apparent but the taste of alcohol was very noticeable but did not deter from the overall good taste of the beer. At the end I tasted caramel and a warm feeling from the alcohol. Overall, a very good barleywine that is meant to be sipped and enjoyed slowly.
