This dark decadent treat could be a prototype for a barreled barleywine. Ample oak and bourbon, but not so much the beer doesn't shine. Sweet and deep flavors and aroma of carmel, raisins, vanilla, malt, bourbon. Very light on the hops, but appropriate. Very very nice sipping beer.

Better than the cabernet option and the barrel aging treats this completely different from the regular Below Decks. A rounded out woody smoothness with a firm Bourbon bite. Overly malty with lots of dark fruits, raisin and a hearrrrty dose of bran cereal.
