Expensive as hell little bottle of beer pours hazy copper with full off white head. The aroma is dusty caramel malts, apricots, a bit of spicy hops and booziness into the end of the draw. The taste has malts, crystal malts, brown sugar, apricot sweet fruitiness, spicy hops and chemical booze into the finish. Seems to be a good deal going on here but it doesn’t really come together and doesn’t seem like age will do it much good either. Hope I’m wrong on the later point though.

Draught@SBWF2005. Hazy nut brown colour, beige foamy head. Sweet caramellish alcoholic flavour and aroma. Aroma also some old vegetables and toffee. Caramellish aftertaste. Gelt like it will get better later. Brew gone bad this year. 4 5 7 6 6

Draught@SBWF2007. Now this was what it probably should be. Ambery reddish colour with small beige head. Aroma is vanilla, hops, sweet caramel malts and alcohol in an excellent balance. Flavour is sweet malts, alcohol, madeirawine some nectary and wooden notes also. Mild chocolateish notes in the finish. Really good. 8 8 8 8 8.

Cloudy dark amber with a generous, creamy beige foam. Very fruity aroma of melon, pear, flowers and grapefruit. Full, fruity flavour of oranges, lemon, floral hops and grapefruit with distint undertone of licorice. Creamy mouthfeel, well hidden alcohol. Long orangey aftertaste. Nice!
