Purchased fresh from the brewpub in a growler. Pours a medium brown with reddish highlights. Small, quickly disappearing head. Aromas of malt, caramel and dark fruit with a whiff of booziness. Tastes as it smells with the malt leading the flavor parade with the caramel and dark fruit bring up the rear. Not nearly as hot as the nose would indicate. Mouthfeel is full and pleasing for the style. Flavors expand as the beer warms. An easy sipper for sure, considering the abv. Worth trying.
