    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Rated in May 2011. This one creeps into the glass like a floppy deep shag rug thrown over a tricycle with dark mahogany body and deep purple hues supporting a nice mocha head. The aroma is rich with sugar coated ripe dark red cherry bits simmering away on a stove, condensed sweet orange juice, sticky pine resin infused malt syrup, some cedar notes and chili pepper meat in the background. The taste is thick with malts and cherry sweetness but quickly cut by a lively level of cedar and chili pepper spiciness. Those notes do a great job digging deep into this beer’s huge slippery sweetness and they create a bold medley of notes that are just holding together. Beneath the bigness of these notes lurks a mix of thick citrus hops, some molasses and chocolate all banging around amid the flavor vastness. This is a fun beer. I dig it although your results may vary.
