50cL bottle pours with a murky dark mahogany colored body that supports a thin dark tan head of foam. The aroma offers up reduced sugar yum, molasses drenched plums and dates flowing into a boozy hit of heat to the snout. The taste delivers smooth rich smooth thick sweet malt and tootsie roll caramel like notes. To midway a sweet plum and date sticky estery fruitiness bubbles to the surface. It then sinks into a well of toasted caramel and molasses boozy goodness. This drinks amazing with only a mild sense of the beastly abv. Wow. Cigar City: king of the barleywine again!!!
