On the topic of how life could arise from a primordial soup, Belgian biochemist Christian de Duve said; “Life is an obligatory manifestation of matter, bound to arise where conditions are appropriate.” We believe beer is the obligatory manifestation of malt. A LOT of it in this bottle. Cheers!

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9

750mL bottle pours with a clear amber body that has thin copper edges and supports a full tight tan head of foam that leaves behind some sheet lacing. The aroma offers up malts and estery fruitiness like plums, dates and figs. Behind those notes is a thin layer of molasses. The taste begins with smooth slick malts gliding quickly into thin layers of molasses and prune like sweet dark fruity esters. Toward midway a nice hop bite comes forward but being held well in check with the thick maltiness. I get malt nuanced notes of pine hops, a woody hop note, earthy woody hops and a dash of spicy black licorice. These hops are going well with the malty onslaught this beer has dished up. Great sipper.
