    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

Rated in July 2016. 750mL bottle, big –ups– to burg326 for shipping me this and to CCB for making this barleywine, pours with a murky ruby red mahogany hued colored body that supports a dark tan head of foam. The aroma offers up loads of reduced sugars nuanced by brown sugar and molasses followed by a date and fig infused spirit and thin blunted oaky spices. The taste is smooth and silky, as it should be, where I get velvety thick sweet malts and molasses mingling with brown sugar stewed dates and figs. To midway the smoothed out, by the malts, cognac essence is met by a mixture of chocolate and a thin shard of sort of earthy kind of hard candy citrus. Cool beans. This has a lot going on where a pleasing sipping harmony is achieved. Terrific sipper. I could get used to sipping on this every now and then.
