Foudre Project #1 is a NW Style sour ale that is a blend of Triples aged in one of our foudre. Look for aromas of sweet candy, apple and subtle hints of citrus as you draw the glass near. Sweet candy and oak mingle on the palate and lead to a soft, round, sweet finish with a lingering oak note.

750mL sample courtesy of nbutler11. It pours with a clear glowing copper to gold colored body that supports a near bright white head that leaves behind clingy lacing. The aroma comes across acidic, woody oak, tart cherries and then a bit of bready maltiness. The taste starts in a refreshing fashion and with a pleasing degree of depth that’s tart and kind of puckering and then quickly getting into some malts, grainy malts and soured sweetened pink grapefruit. This is mighty nice with its depth and varied flavors that keep it interesting and there’s almost no sense of the ABV.
