Black malt gives roast aroma and taste and the Pale malt contributes a sweet biscuity note. Delicious cane sugar and caramel adds more sweetness. At 7.4% abv this beer is very full bodied, sweet and warming. Challenger hops give a fresh dry hop character and moderate bitterness and the Goldings adds a more aromatic and spicy note giving quite a complex beer. Rich, warming and satisfying. Malt: Pale, Black Hops: Challenger, Goldings Prior to 2019, this recipe was brewed to an ABV of 6.5%

A dark chocolate colored ale with a smooth and creamy whote head that took its time to dissipate. A smooth medium to full bodied ale that had a smoky chocolate aroma with a faint bitterness followed by flavors of caramel and chocolate. Not a sweet beer but had a nice bitterness to sweetness balance without it being dry.

500 ml clear bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 6.5%. Drunk a bit too cold. Ruby colour, moderate off-white head. Nice malty aroma, notes of caramel and treacle, a hint of oak and mild spices. Malty and sweet flavour, low bitterness. Strong notes of caramel and treacle. Quite nice beer, if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Pours a small foamy bubbly beige head but doesn't stay very long. Has a dark amber appearance with ruby highlights. Weak lacing. Aromas of toasty malts, some hints of caramel, spices. Flavours are mostly malty, some caramel notes are strong, barley, some subtle spices. Good retention.

Pours dark reddish-copper with a faint ring of a head. The aroma is roasted malt, caramel and rippened fruit (dates/raisens). Sweet on the pallette, but not unpleasant. Lightly bitter (in a nice way) finish. Nice on a cool evening.

I have always found Scotch Ales to be hit and miss, and I dare say that this one was a hit. A very dark mahogany colour with a light brown cap. Aroma is caramel, molasses, and nuts. The flavour is rich, sweet, and satisfying with notes of molasses, coffee, and plums.

Pours a nice clear sepia with a respectable buff head that takes its leave rather quickly. Malty aroma has fruity and caramel hints. Strong, if not bold, flavor pleases with malty and caramel notes plus fruity and nutty hints. Texture is firm and fizzy, and leaves a sweetish malty finish. Aye, laddie (or lassie), a bonnie brew!

Nifty. Pours dark dark red copper, not much of a head. Roasted malt and dark fruit prevail in the aroma. Mouth is sweet. Finish is interesting, kind of...dry dark fruit, almost bitter, but not really.

Great looking Scottish beer with the telltale amber color and amazing clarity. Was surprised by the hopiness of the nose, not overpowering just more than expected. Mouthfeel is good and full and the flavors are very nice and well balanced.

Caramel, Caramel, Caramel. THis beer is stocked with all the caramel notes you like - if that is up your alley. Malted barley galore. I am very impressed with this brew. That it is a higher ranking brew not withstanding, is a bonus. Pours a rich mohagonay and the head is light and laces the glass nicely. Aroma, well, caramel. Hopps and malt. You think of your favorite Vanilla ice cream when you drink this. Great session brew yet can go with a rich holiday meal. Need to go back to the store and buy some more.....

It pours a dark reddish-brown with thin light-tan head and some lace. Sweet aroma of caramel malts, light hops, plums, raisins, oranges, cranberry, and modest spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, plums, raisin, pears, citrus, and spices. Superb concoction!

Pours a nice respectable root beer brown. Nicely sweet toffee aroma, with a nice complex molasses like flavor. A fairly sweet mouth feel, still a good meal beer with beef or a nice flavor treat by its self.
